Posting PhotosFor small quantities, photos can be uploaded to http://idisk.mac.com/katejob-Public?view=web. In the upper right hand corner of the page there is a round button with a blue arrow pointing up and the word "Upload" underneath. Click on that upload arrow. When you are prompted to "Select a file to upload," click the Choose File button. Browse to the image on your hard drive that you want to upload and click "Choose." The file name of the image you just chose is displayed next to the "Choose File" button in the first window. Click the "Upload" button in this window and the file will start uploading. The amount of time the file takes to upload will depend on the size of the file. If you think more than enough time has passed for the image to upload and there is no confirmation that it has, refresh the browser window. As only one image can be uploaded at a time, this is not the most expedient means of getting very many photos to me at one time. If you have several photos (which I am counting on) or high resolution images, I can retrieve those by others means. I plan on bringing a laptop to all BPA meetings. The image files can be transferred from a CD, USB flash/thumb drive, or portable hard drive. (Don't forget to bring the USB or firewire cable.) I will also try to borrow a multi-card media reader for pulling images directly from your camera's storage media. Send me an email if you'd like for me to meet with you to get photos at some other time than a BPA meeting. Neither of my children drive yet, so I am the taxi driver. I go up and down Bailey Cove from three to five times a day. I can stop anywhere between Four Mile Post and Green Cove Road, or meet at school before and after practices. You may also email images to me at katejob@mac.com, which a few people have already done. This means is good for two or three photos at a time. Seniors' Presentation: Email would probably be the best method for content for the seniors' presentation. As a parent of a freshman, I only know a handful of the seniors; literally, I can count the ones I know on one hand. Email will give you the opportunity to identify the subject in the photographs. Please send a "now" photo and a "then" photo. The "now" photo does not have to be a senior portrait, but something taken this year would be best. The "then" photo does not have to be a baby picture. It may seem early to be starting on this, but this a large project and I would like to do it justice. If I can get some of the culling process done now, and as time goes by, more time can be spent on orchestrating a nice presentation come April. I am looking for images of band members in all aspects of band participation, not just performances. For those band members who receive these email distributions, please send me your photos and encourage your peers to share their pictures. Band parents aren't the only shutterbugs I've seen taking photos. The best pictures are those taken from the participants' points of view. Keep taking lots of pictures and please send them to me so they may be shared with everybody at the banquet in the Spring. |
